Operations Manager (Time Critical Logistics)
Job Type: Full-time
Working Hours: 9.00 am to 6.00pm (with some on call responsibility)
Salary: to 55,000 DOE
Red Eagle Recruitment is looking to recruit an Operations Manager for our Time Critical Logistics Client. The ideal candidate will come from a senior transport background and have full understanding of the demands transport planning requires. Also candidates must have a full understanding on managing a business’s P&L along with relevant knowledge of managing major blue chip level customer accounts. Key job responsibilities
Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational
strategy and performance measures. Accountable for daily operational productivity, profitability, procurement and planning and delivering service excellence
Ensure the teams are effectively resourced and that staff rotas and staff absences are managed to ensure customer requirements are met
Direct involvement in the recruitment, selection induction and on-going skills development for all direct reports, ensuring we attract and retain the best talent
Personal responsibility to understand and comply with all company ISO and AEO requirements and policies
Liaise with team leaders to understand all necessary aspects and needs of the operational team and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes
Ensure activities meet and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care
Maintain and develop working relationships with other offices within the group, clients, suppliers and official bodies
Manage and develop direct reporting staff ensuring staff performance reviews are carried out, supporting team leaders in the induction and effective integration of new
Troubleshoot and offer advice on solutions for complex issues
Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
Liaise with supplier management team to assist with carrier compliance and the introduction of new and relevant carriers
